Fall events at protest pizza

Fall at Protest: Comedy, Drag Bingo, Community and Plenty of Pizza

Opening Protest Pizza was never just about selling slices. We wanted to create a place where people could gather, laugh loudly, support meaningful causes and feel at home in the heart of DC’s LGBTQ+ neighborhood.

This fall, we’re filling the calendar with comedy, drag, fundraising, neighborhood connections and one of 17th Street’s most iconic traditions. Here’s what’s coming up at Protest. Hope to see you!

Thursday, September 17
Hot Takes & Hot Plates Comedy Night

Pizza tastes even better with a side of unapologetic opinions.

Hot Takes & Hot Plates brings leftist comedians from across the DMV to Protest for a night of sharp comedy, hot pizza and absolutely no shortage of things to talk about.

We had such a laugh in July, we just had to make Hot Takes & Hot Plates part of our recurring programming. Look forward to comedy nights every other month.

Doors open at 8 PM, and the show starts at 9 PM. Come early, grab a plate and settle in.

Get your tickets here.

Sunday, September 20
Rally & Roll Drag Bingo Benefiting GMCW

Drag bingo is back, and this time we’re rallying for the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, an organization very close to our hearts.

Our last drag bingo raised more than $3,250 for the community. Let’s fill the room, make some noise and see what we can accomplish together this time.

No advance registration is required. Just show up ready to play, tip your performers and support GMCW.

Tuesday, September 22
Dupont Circle Village LGBTQ+ Friends Happy Hour

After the fun we had celebrating Pride together in June, Dupont Circle Village’s LGBTQ+ Friends are returning to Protest for another evening of community, conversation and slices.

Whether you’re reconnecting with friends or meeting someone new, you’re welcome at the table.

The gathering is free, but advance registration is encouraged.

Register here.

Tuesday, October 27
The 39th Annual 17th Street High Heel Race

The High Heel Race is one of those wonderfully DC traditions that reminds us why we love being part of this neighborhood.

On October 27, 17th Street will once again fill with extravagant outfits, towering heels and thousands of people ready to celebrate. Whether you’re racing, cheering or simply wearing footwear deserving of its own spotlight, make Protest part of your night.

Come by for a pre-race slice, meet up with friends or refuel after the heels come off.

Register for your free spot here.

Feeding a Crowd This Football Season?

Not every gathering needs a stage, a drag queen or a pair of heels. Sometimes you just need football, friends and enough food to keep everyone happy.

Order ahead from Protest Pizza and make game day easy with whole pizzas, wings, tots, beer, wine and canned cocktails.

Order directly from Protest Pizza.

Feeding a larger group? Tell us what you’re planning through our group ordering and catering page, and we’ll help you put together the right spread.

Want to Join the Protest?
